Member Spotlight - Rosalie Person

As a professional musician - working since age 12 - I  was delighted to see the choral membership choices when I arrived here in 1989. While performing with three other groups from 20 to 100 members, I always attended Congressional Chorus performances. As the others faded away, I joined Congressional Chorus in 2001, and have missed only one concert through all the years and 3 conductors. The early years had 40-60 members.  Those numbers, after the untimely death of founder, Dr. Michael Patterson at age 52, grew to 80 with Dave Simmons, who introduced pop concerts with choreography to great success. I also was delighted that we often commissioned works with all three conductors.

With Allan's arrival, I was so impressed with his musical skills, as well as procuring commissions and first rate venues for rehearsals and many performances. I am so delighted that so far, we have three Christmas performances! Allan is such a tranquil, generous, patient soul, that it makes us thrive all the more!

It's such a joy to see all the new faces that we've added since Allan began with us! We sound wonderful, and the singers are all friendly and dedicated! The Executive Board, which is a very crucial component in any chorus here in Choral City, works so well and quietly behind the scenes, that I look forward to many years with Allan and our sterling group! Thanks to everyone, we rock!
