The 85-voice Congressional Chorus (CC) opens its 29th season in Washington, DC by joining forces with Joy of Motion Dance CenterAfromoda Dance TheaterCapitol Movement, spoken word artists from American Youth Chorus (AYC) and the NorthEast Senior Singers alongside a LIVE 10-piece instrumental ensemble in a unique, multi-sensory performance that celebrates the emotions and the seasons of our lives. From poignant and tender ballads to toe-tappin' and roof-raisin' production numbers, it will be a night of pure joy.

Come experience the energy and the power of an eclectic mix of music and dance in the stunning acoustics of the beautiful and historic

Beginning with the release of The Jazz Singer in 1927, audiences have been entertained, inspired and mesmerized by the songs of the “Silver Screen.” From Gene Kelly swingin’ on pole in Singin’ In The Rain, to Judy Garland going “Over The Rainbow” in The Wizard of Oz, and from Marilyn Monroe’s cooing of “Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend” to John Travolta’s dancing to “Stayin’ Alive” in Saturday Night Fever, Hollywood has created legendary scenes that never fail to put a smile on our faces and a song in our hearts.

 A new generation of American composers have been taking the choral world by storm with fresh and thrilling new works that reflect the increasingly global and inter-connected society in which we live. Join the 180 voices of our family of choruses, as well as the 50 voices of our guest chorus, the Grace Chorale of Brooklyn, for an eclectic sampling of this diverse and exciting music. The highlight of the evening will be the world premiere ofVamo La (Let’s Go!) by J. Chris Urquiaga, a first generation American composer. 
This three-movement, samba and salsa influenced work, in Spanish, Portuguese and English, reflects the young composer’s Peruvian and Brazilian heritage.  Come experience music that is YOUNG, HIP & GLOBAL!
